NI-YETU Youth Empowerment Project
NI-YETU is a participatory youth-led social empowerment program .This program integrates the promotion of Youth Sexual Reproductive Health &Rights ( SRHR) and prevention of Gender Based Violence ( GBV) among young people in lira district . Code named ‘Ni-Yetu’ is a Swahili word which literally means ‘it is ours’.
In partnership with PLAN International Uganda, Uganda Youth Network, Centre for Domestic Violence Prevention (CEDOVIP) and Straight Talk Foundation Uganda, FIRD is implementing this project in three sub –counties of Agweng, Ogur and Barr sub– counties in Lira District in Northern Uganda . The program seeks to empower young people with correct knowledge, attitude and skills for reducing GBV and improve their SRH outcomes while also demanding for and fulfilling their rights in a participatory and inclusive manner.
