Protection and conservation of Indigenous Trees

The populations of useful indigenous trees namely the African Mahogany (Afzelia Africana) and Shea tree (Vitellaria paradox) in selected areas of West Nile (Adjumani District) and Lango (Otuke District) are endangered and on the verge of extinction. With Funding from the UNDP GEF small grant programme , Foundation for Integrated rural development Seeks to improve the protection and conservation of populations of useful indigenous trees namely the African Mahogany (Afzelia Africana) and Shea tree (Vitellaria paradoxa) in selected areas of West Nile (Adjumani District) and Lango (Otuke District) by 2023.This project is expected to benefit 1600 (800 boys and 800 girls) youth living in both Adjumani and Otuke Districts where the tree species are located.
