Education is a powerful driver of development and one of the strongest instruments for reducing poverty mitigating the pattern of fragility especially for the girl child, raising incomes, promoting economic growth and shared prosperity for improved health, gender equality, peace, and stability.
FIRD’s interventions seek to promote access to quality education for girls and boys through provision of scholarships, creating a safer and more secure learning environment, support infrastructure improvement and construction in rural post conflict communities and also strengthening governance of schools for better learning outcomes.
Promotion of Early Childhood Development.
FIRD’s Interventions seek to promote community services for children under 10 years, monitor initiatives and establish early childcare and education facilities, Strengthen the capacity of families and communities through sensitization, education and skills training on early childhood development, nutrition and training to promote growth and development of children during their critical foundation stages of growth.
We ensure that:
- Girls and boys, including those with disabilities are safe from all forms of neglect and child abuse.
- All school going children in primary schools are protected in safe and conducive learning environments with access to quality health care support and services, engage in creative and innovative activities like entrepreneurship and other recreational activities.
- Support children to access quality primary Education and complete school at the appropriate age.
